April 05, 2023 – Innovation Asset Collective (IAC), a key pillar for Canada’s national IP strategy providing Canadian business owners and entrepreneurs better access to IP resources, is pleased to announce a formal partnership with Innovation Saskatchewan. Under this partnership, IAC and Innovation Saskatchewan will work together to create economic prosperity through IP programing in the province.

With a shared focus on organizations in the data driven clean tech sector, this partnership will help companies leverage their IP strategy to compete, scale, and create business advantages that benefit both Saskatchewan and Canada.

To become global technology champions, companies need to better understand the importance of IP and how to build formidable IP and data positions to support growth. This was one insight that led to the development of IAC as we firmly believe that a good IP strategy is incomplete until it involves a plan that supports a business’s ability to successfully protect and commercialize innovation and drive revenue. We’re excited to actively work with the province of Saskatchewan and Innovation Saskatchewan to further promote Canada’s national IP strategy.

Mike McLean, CEO, Innovation Asset Collective

Ian Meier, owner and CEO of Agrimatics, a manufacturing company in precision agriculture, forestry and biodiversity, and a current IAC member, stated, “We’ve received tremendous value from our membership in IAC and it fills a major gap in the Canadian startup eco-system. IP often isn’t taken as seriously as it should be by early-stage startups, and it’s often out of reach from a financial perspective. IAC’s combination of grants to assist companies, regular seminars to educate entrepreneurs on the fundamentals of IP, and access to a defensive portfolio of patents is such an amazing combination of benefits that I would highly encourage any tech startup with patentable technology to join.”

As part of the partnership, IAC will collaborate with Innovation Saskatchewan to share IP education and IP strategic fundamentals with local companies. This will include joint information sessions, education events, speaking opportunities to open IP benefits in Saskatchewan. More information on joint events will be available soon.

We are pleased to partner with IAC and help Saskatchewan companies leverage the power of IP in their business strategies. By maximizing their growth and innovation potential, these companies are well positioned to achieve commercialization success and become global technology and innovation leaders.
